If you're passion is bird photography, then a visit to the Vulture Hide at Giants Castle is a MUST.  This hide was buillt with the photographer in mind.  We booked our trip to Giants Castle late in 2007.  The Vulture Hide was booked for the 24th and 25th of July 2008.  We made a long weekend of this and booked at  Giants Castle from Wednesday to Sunday.

Louis and Wilma joined us from Johannesburg and Duncan, our son, from Durban.  The Vulture Hide exceeded our expectations. The carcasses were supplied by the Parks Board and you had the choice of going to the hide with your own vehicle or being dropped off and fetched by the Parks Board.  The idea is to arrive before sunrise and leave after sunset. We were very fortunate to see and photograph the Bearded and Cape Vulture on both days. The rest of the weekend was spent walking in the mountains and doing some landscape photography.

These are some of the images I captured.
