Our holiday to Botswana was an absolute dream come true. Maggie and I joined forces with two friends, Duncan Angus and Alan Gorman and set off to Botswana. We spent time in Central Kalahari, camped at Sunday Pan and Piper Pan. The remoteness, not seeing another person or vehicle for a week was bliss! We had no ablutions and spent the time at Piper and Sunday Pan showering in a cubicle and using the spade method when nature called! We fetched Verity, Duncan's fiancée from Maun airport and continued on our journey. Friends from Nelspruit, Darryl and Nolene joined us and we were on our way to Third Bridge and Savuti. We got stuck a few times with our off road trailer, but were rescued every time by Duncan and his Landie. The tracks that we travelled on was hair raising to say the least, but an experience not to be missed and it definitely added to the excitement of the holiday.

Wilma and Louis also joined us from Gauteng. We met at Nata Camp site and continued to Chobe National Park where Wilma and Louis were visited by elephant and hyena in the middle of the night whilst inside their tent sleeping! We did a fair amount of birding and were able to add some lifers to our birding list.

We had a wonderful time together with friends and family. The photographic opportunities were magnificent and I would like to share some of the beautiful photos taken, with you.
